Exhibitions and museums
I believe in the unique power of real objects to communicate stories that move us. I have worked on exhibitions at every scale and budget, from major national museums to shoestring pop-ups, from textiles and ceramics to prints and architectural models. Whatever the subject, my work always has collections at its heart.
I am a trustee of the Brooking Museum of Architectural Detail and have previously worked at Sir John Soane’s Museum, the Jewish Museum London, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
My recent projects have included ‘Leamington Spa and the Black Atlantic’, an exhibition exploring the links between Leamington and the Americas, West Africa, and the Caribbean during the nineteenth century. Professor Olivette Otele called the exhibition book ‘surprising and brilliant’ - you can read and download it for free.
Upcoming projects include ‘Sustain: from the past, for the future’, an exhibition using historic collections to inspire audiences to take positive action for the future of the climate. The exhibition is part of the Natural History Museum’s ‘Fixing Our Broken Planet’ programme, and will be curated in collaboration with climate scientists and young people.
