Teaching and training

I believe that museums and collections have an important role to play in higher education. I aim to build relationships between the sectors, offering training which helps academics to feel confident teaching with objects and sharing their research through museums.

I am currently working on a free toolkit for small museums to help them reach out to universities. The toolkit will feature practical tips and ideas, supported by the latest peer-reviewed research on object-based teaching.

I was trained in teaching with objects through the Eloquent Things programme at the Ashmolean museum. I have taught in the Art History department at Oxford Brookes University, and on the interdisciplinary Krasis seminar series at the Ashmolean, as well as giving guest lectures and object-based seminars at the University of Warwick.

I offer bespoke training for universities, covering the exciting potential for public engagement with research through museums, and the essentials of how to teach with objects and collections. Get in touch to discuss your needs.
